Geiger Key and Big Coppitt Keys are two islands that line up on either side of route U.S. 1, about 5 miles north of Key West. The Big Coppitt / Geiger community has several county parks, a camping area, convenience stores, boat ramps, churches and gas stations. Well-known landmarks are Babalu’s Southern Café, a local restaurant with a homey tavern feel, and Geiger Key Marina with great fresh fish served waterside. Big Coppitt and Geiger Key offer starter homes, condos and build-ready lots where you can build an open water or canal home to your specifications.
